Amsterdam Foodie

A few weeks ago, I blogged about a feature on Dutch street food for which I did an afternoon’s film shoot with the presenter. The feature was for GlobalMAG, a TV programme focusing on the environment (don’t ask me how street food fits into the environment – I have no idea!) shown on French/German channel Arte.

My five minutes of fame was broadcast last week, but was only available to viewers who receive the French version of the channel, apparently, and not the German version that we get in Holland. Not only that, but the high-pitched, giggly tones of yours truly were dubbed into husky French! You forget – living in the Netherlands – that sub-titles aren’t the favoured method of translation in many of our neighbouring countries… But hey, French stardom is better than no stardom, toch?!
