September: So give us some figgy pasta

Does anyone actually know what figgy pudding is? And why would it be eaten at Christmas, when figs are in season now?

Scary French Lady told me about a fig pudding involving puff pastry and an egg custard… it sounded great but, not having much of a sweet tooth, I wanted to find something savoury to create with my figs… And then I came across a recipe for fig and chilli tagliatelle on the BBC website.

I switched tagliatelle for linguine (I find tagliatelle weirdly slimy, but be warned: linguine is ludicrously hard to come by in Albert Heijn) and added smoked mozzarella for an extra salt/smoke taste element. Et voila: figgy pasta. Yum.
