Anniversary dinner

January 14th is a very auspicious day for me. Not only was yesterday my three-year anniversary of moving to Amsterdam, but it also marked ten years since I first consumated my second greatest passion. Choice of words was significant… err-hem.
To celebrate, I invited my four best girl-friends over for bubbles, gossip and a rather ambitious five-course dinner… I realise this is vanity, but I couldn’t let such a culinary extravaganza pass by without a slightly self-indulgent blog entry to record it:
‘Ajo blanco’ or ‘white gazpacho’: almond and garlic soup with white grapes
Tuna, mango and avocado ceviche with chilli and coriander
‘Sausage and mash’: chorizo with white bean, garlic and rosemary mash
Carrot, orange, butternut squash and goat’s cheese tartlet with a tarragon, fennel, grape and watercress salad
Basil and lime mousse with (Jules Destrooper) almond thins

Iit was all delicious, as always. And the company was also great!
The minute I can remember any embarrasing anniversary of mine (which will probably be emabrrasing only for me), I’ll have you over at mine!
